Street Fighter 6 Pre-Download Date and File Size Revealed

with how much space they'll need.
Capcom has revealed how much space its upcoming fighting
game, Street Fighter 6, will require, along with when
players can start pre-downloading the game ahead of its official release. Among
the stacked June 2023 video
game release lineup, Street Fighter 6 is one of the
titles that is looking to capture the attention of fighting game players and
gamers alike. Capcom has been doing a lot to promote the game, showcasing the
game's new and returning fighters who will be a part of the game at launch.
Fans will be getting a special 30-minute presentation regarding
this game later this month, which will be hosted by Lil Wayne. A quick preview
shows a new stylish costume for Street Fighter 6 newcomer Kimberly,
along with shots of both the single-player and multiplayer modes. Some might be
wondering how much disk space they'll need to accommodate this fighting game,
along with if there's any chance to pre-download it. Fortunately, there are
some digital store pages that give out these details.

According to the Xbox store page for Street Fighter 6,
the game is listed at around 50 GB, while the Steam version says it will
require 60 GB or so. The file size for PlayStation versions isn't currently
available yet. The previous title, Street Fighter 5, was around 35
GB, excluding the game's cinematic story mode. This lines up with recent Capcom
games that have utilized the RE Engine, which have had similarly large file
sizes. Interestingly enough, the size of the full game is only slightly bigger
than Street Fighter 6's closed beta
application, which was 42 GB.
In terms of the game's pre-download date, this was found on the
PS4 and PS5 versions of Street Fighter 6. It
states that those who've digitally pre-ordered the game will be able to
download it starting on May 31, 2023, which is a few days shy of its official
release. The Steam page for the game states that it will unlock within 6 weeks
and pre-loading it will be available on June 1. The Xbox version will likely
have a date that is within this range. Fans should expect a day one patch to be
installed with the pre-download, while physical copies will need to download
the update before playing.
Aside from the showcase later this week, Street Fighter 6's comic book miniseries is
also being released in the weeks leading up to the game's June release. The
first issue is a one-shot that features some of the newcomers, which will be
released on Free Comic Book Day, May 6, 2023. The weekly issues following that
will be focused on Ken Masters' story and how he ties into the story of this
upcoming game.
